If anyone finds themselves in Southern Illinois, take some time to hit Glenn O Jones Lake near Equality, Il.

This little lake is dynamite. Easily fished from boat or bank. Several boat launches, and plenty of accessible shoreline. Tons of structure to hold the fish: rocks, trees, stumps, cattails, etc everywhere you look. Points and coves all along the shorelines make bank fishing very easy and productive.

Loaded with largemouth bass and crappies, and reportedly some very big ones of both species. I caught many small ones...but spoke to several people who fish there often and everyone says it has some lunkers.

There is a nice campground, a concession stand and bait shop, and good picnic areas as well. Definitely a user-friendly little lake that is stuffed full of fish.
