If you are old or young seeing a big ole Lake Trout coming up with some big head shakes will get your heart a pumping! In the spring we troll in shallow waters with 6 or 8inch rapalas as the summer starts to warm up the water, we jig with buckhair jig with sucker meat added ,off humps in deep water ,either way its a great fighter and a great eating fish.

Got any pics? Man, Lake Trout are one fish that I've never caught that I've always wanted to! I was fishing a few yards away from a guy that took one once-- and kept thinking "why wasn't it me!". It's pretty specialized fishing, though, isn't it? In other words, you don't just pick them up by accident, like when fishing for something else? OK, my new "must do" is to catch a Laker! Do you charter, dugger? LOL! Best---- JoeW

Where do you fish for lake trout? Many years ago, I used to make an annual trip to Eagle's Nest Lake to fish for rainbow trout, but haven't been for a long time.

Geez- those are BIG as far as I'm concerned. And beautiful trout! How do they fight? I've always heard a deep, bulldog, head-shaking fight-- nothing spectacular- just tough? OK, I gotta get me a couple of those- just closer than NM (I'm near Buffalo, NY!). Dang, and I'm stuck here in a foot of snow and 20 degree temps- I wanna go fishin'-- for Lakers (whine, whine!). Best---- JoeW
