Data Members Map

Thanks to Pork we now have a Members Map. Click on the link and put a Pin in the Area you live. No need to use address. You can add a pin by typing in your town, (it will just call it 'A' or 'B' at first)then, click on the lettered pin on the left & rename it whatever you'd like. Pork and I both just used our Username here at Outdoor-Fishing. Thanks again Pork. HOW TO instructions are posted below. Below is the link to click on:

I think there may be a hiccup here...I just did a test run by going the link...
by accessing the map through the link, it shows the map, but you're unable to post a pin & save it without logging in....

Seems we'll need to send out the invitations through the 'collaborate' tab to give the members access to editing.

I'll look into it & make sure that's the case.
If so, not sure the best way to handle it...
maybe a mass email to current members & then each new member would get an invitation when they signed up?
Or, a moderator or admin could post the pin for the member after receiving permission.?

Just a couple ideas....
management may just want to scrap it if there's not a fairly easy way to get access.

Maybe you just have to sign in using your own Gmail account to save to the map?
I just used the one I set up for OF...
I could make another account & try that...

When I go to the link & place a pin, it wants me to sign in before saving...?
Let me know if that's what you did Chris.

If you all notice Pork, Chris and I placed our Pins first. We picked the best spots.......LOL

[Espyville Outdoors]

1. Click on the link provided
2. Enter address or city in search bar at top of screen
3. Click on the letter on the map
4. Click "Save to map"

At this point, you may have to edit your "pin" to show your Outdoor-Fishing screen name. To do that, do the following:

1. Click on the "EDIT" block on the left side of the screen, outside of the map
2. Click on the "pin" you want to edit that is on the left, outside of the map
3. In the title box, enter your screen name.
4. Click save and you should be set

Yep, good summary Chris.

But I just tried it without being logged into a google account & it wouldn't save.
I then created a new google account & tried it again & it worked.
I just had to be signed into google to save.

You were signed into a google account when you placed your pin, correct?
