Yes it is and i cant wait. I will be taking my son along (as i do every year for the past 6 years) and i cant wait. He looks forward to it every year. We always go to the same spot. It gets stocked by the fish comm and a local club so there is always a lot of trout there and some really big ones

Yep--- NY too is just about to dump the stockers. but with the water so low and clear- they're gonna be staying in the holes where they're stocked. There'll be crowds at the bridges! Gonna be murder April 1st! You'll see a lot of chain stringers loaded up with them poor little fishies! I'll probably see if i can scare up some Steelies for a few weeks (same poor conditions, though- low and clear- fish may not have run the creeks this spring!).

And here's an early season tip for stockers: http://outdoor-fishing.com/showthread.php?t=2076

Good luck! Best---- JoeW

I am thankful Utah has a year round season but I do remember when that was not the case and I also remember the crowds.
