Cool One is Right & One is Wrong

OK guys...here's my attempt at an educational post. At the auction last night, I picked up a small tackle box full of junk, but it also contained these two Tiny Go-Deeper Runts. The top lure has replacement hooks and hardware...the bottom one is correct. You can clearly see the difference, especially in the bottom photo. Why would someone replace the hooks on that white lure? It is in great condition...I would have to think the original hooks were too. Being as these two are the older type(gold eyes) I would like to correct the pearl(white) one.

nice find.
I saw an ad for an auction tomorrow, ad claimed there would
be lots of vintage fishing gear.
I went to the pre inspection, what they have is a small box with several lures, nothing too exciting.
Then I found several rod & reel combos that will be up for bid.
I left a bid card for 3 of the combos. I will know monday if I won any of the bids. I hope my luck
will be as good as Your's and JoeW has been.

Cool

Update...got the right hook hardware on the white one...took 'em off an old Jitterbug. They match the other Runt(Strawberry) exactly now.

Cool

This is a pic of all my Heddon River Runts...not even a drop in the bucket of all the styles and colors available. These are fun to collect because they're still affordable...wonder how long that will last?

I have a yellow and silver one the size of your black and silver one . I've had it since about 1965.

Do you mean the hooks or the hangers? It looks like your white one is missing the "cup" at the end of the body...

Yep...it was actually missing BOTH cups turnip...and those hooks were wrong...but I have since replaced them with the correct hardware.

Default River Runt

Hey, Mo65
I have one of the runts you showed. The black and white with the silver bill. Got it from my older brother when he passed. Nice pics.
