Default home made bass boat

Some years ago, my uncle built casting decks into a flatbottom john boat making a home made bass boat. I just rebuilt the 1976 SmokerCraft Whitewater WR16 in 2009. I tore out all of the old wood and rebuilt the casting decks front and back and painted the whole thing with marine grade, anti skid, waterproof polyurethane. It's equipped with a trolling motor, depth finder and fishing seats. I've added some pics to my profile. Check em out!

Hoss-

First off, great looking boat! I just wanted to mention that we added a new feature to the site. Click the little camera icon in the post editor and it will allow you to add photos from your albums.

Thanks guys. Start to finish, about 3 weeks. It was pretty much the same design, just new wood throughout. It was carpeted before. We decided to make it a fishing/duck boat and figured it would be easier to clean up if we painted it with duracoat. Next step is either a 4 stroke or an oil injected two stroke so we don't have to mix gas in the tanks anymore. The outboard is older than I am. It still runs pretty good but it'll run the cranking battery down when it's cold out, and since we use it as a duck boat and run it in sub freezing temps, I'd like something a bit newer. I also had to rewire everything and find a harness for that '78 Merc. She's a fishing machine, thats for sure.

Great job hossinonimus. I know a little something about a boat rebuild . See my post "My 1977 Glastron Sportster, the Pooder Pie" for the story of my rebuild. Happy Fishing!
