Default I must have been good!

So I'm sitting in the living room with my lovely wife one evening a couple of weeks ago and she asks me "What was that reel that you've always wanted?" I told her it was an Abu Ambassadeur Record. She says "Go ahead and order it."

Friday, the brown truck drops off a package from Tackle Warehouse with this beauty inside

My wife is a keeper, for sure

Tom

I really don't think you'll like that reel. You better just pack it up and send it on to me!

Dugger - I've got it on a 7' MH Berkeley Lightning Rod. Works great for swimbaits, jigs and t-rigged plastics. I'm waiting for the chance to try it with some big striper plugs

mo65 - As a matter of fact, my wife has 6 sisters. They're all spoken for though.

I gave the new reel a workout over the weekend, caught a couple of bass on t-rigged plastic worms and a 7 lb. wiper on a 3/4 oz. Rattle Trap. The reel is pretty heavy compared to some of the other reels out there, but it balances nicely on the Lightning Rod so I really didn't notice the weight much. It's smooth as butter casting and retrieving and the Carbontex drag is, by far, the strongest and smoothest I've ever handled. It may not have all of the gee-whiz high-tech bells and whistles, but I've never handled a reel that felt as solid as this one. I think I'm gonna keep it!

Tom
