Thanks for the input everyone. I really hope this turns out nice. The paint is gonna be a test to be for sure. I should be getting the colors in, in the next day or so so I'll post up when I get it going. God Bless. Dave

Front legs makes them spin in the air when you cast and wind is blowing . Makes a rats nest of line.

The froglooks very good to me and almost nobody puts front legs on frogs and they work.

Well I got my paints and Started in on the frog over the weekend. I have it pretty much done now all except for putting the hooks on it.

All in all I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. My green paint I got really wasn't the shade I wanted, but it didn't turn out too bad and didn't want to have to wait any longer for more.

I used a pretty unorthodox method for adding a 3-D touch. I wanted it to be as lifelike as I could get it. This meant giving it texture by way of making the "warty bumps" frogs have. I accomplished this by giving it a heavy base coat of paint then sprinkling it with sand and a few tiny pebbles. I then painted over that.

I made quite a few mistakes along the way. The first would be the body shape of the lure it's self. It needed more of a backbone protrusion and a larger belly along with a thicker neck. I hope it turns out to be a good accident though because the trim body I came up with should afford it a more streamlined and less resistant pull than a proper body profile would. I just hope it has a good action.

I have posted the pictures of it in it's various stages. As I said earlier I still have to put the hooks on it so I will post one last pic when I get that done. The pics I am posting are in order that they were taken and for the most part should explain themselves. I hope you all enjoy them. God Bless. Dave

db! Let me be the first to tell you that is the most perfect rendition of "bullfrog" I have ever seen on a lure! And the "crumb coating" is just a stroke of genius! You use some strong line when you fish that so "Old Mossback" doesn't snap it off on you! Geez- I wish I could do stuff like that. Best---- JoeW
