Well, I had a fishing trip planned next weekend with my 12 year old granddaughter. Would have been her first time fishing on my boat

, and I was going to teach her how to drive the boat

, but she told me last night that she wasn't interested

, rather hang out at a friend's house

. So my normal partner Danny is going with me

See now that is what you get for letting her play with dolls . Make sure theif formula bottle is fish shaped , let them cut their teeth on a swim bait and soon as they can sit up give them one of those pocket pen fishing reels to play with . Coleman sells them.

I'm quite disappointed in her. She has been constantly pestering me with "when are you taking me fishing?", so for Christmas I got her an In-Fisherman magazine subscription, a new Abu Garcia Agenda spinning combo, and 2 In-Fisherman DVDs on bass and catfish fishing. Friday I gave her another DVD and she told me she never reads the magazines , doesn't watch the DVDs , and isn't going on the previously arranged fishing trip because her friend wants her to come to her house that day.

Im glad you did not scrap the trip. I know it will not be the same, but you and Danny
will have a good time. make sure to post some pictures. So do not forget the camera this trip.LOL

You know cwd, I wish you lived closer too!!

Danny is my regular partner and we'll have a great time. We ALWAYS catch fish at Canyon Lake.

That is just what I was thinking, maybe her froiend would be real stoked about going fishing. I feel for ya b or b. makes me think back to the couple of times I told my dad I would rather go hang out with a friend(girls) rather than fish. I regret those times i did that. all Is not lost though, you planted the fishing bug in her.

We'll see. Most of her friends feel that fishing is a questionable activity, especially for a girl.

I wish you luck my friend. it seams girls start becoming peculiar at around that age and they don't stop. Just when you start thinking you got them pegged they do something over the top.

I took my son and the two daughters camping and fishing when they were young. Eventually they all lost interest. Then after collage My son was interested.

And my one daughter convinced her husband to buy a cabin cruiser. Now I spend several weekends visiting them and fishing the area off Cedar Point. It is a big boat and will sleep six comfortably.
