Default Bluegill prototype fly!

B or B got me interested in those Puglisi (?) style flies he caught that big bass on. Did some research, found a video. Man! Really simple to tie! Saw a lot for saltwater, but none for freshwater- so went for a baby Bluegill! This is my first one- just a prototype. Need to adjust the head and some proportions. Ready to give it a test dunking in my backyard garden pond. I'm liking this style of fly! Best---- JoeW (Can ya tell I'm excited?)

Hey thanks for the kind words all.

Now, the hard part- can I tie more than one of them! Heck, anyone can get lucky once! The challenge is to duplicate and repeat!

Had a little time this Pm- modified the pattern, worked on proportions. Pond tested them- they keep their shape in the water and actually become very tansparent, dry out, then resume original shape. May see how they cast with a fly rod tomorrow. Found out that if I soak them in the sink, let them dry, then trim them, they are easier to cut to a true shape.

Having fun with these, and thanks again. Best---- JoeW

WOW what a great looking fly.
I sure could have used that when I was watching that bass tryin to nest.
