Well guys i am going to start kicking it up a notch. You all know I am a die hard tyer and fly fisherman. I will soon be guiding as well. I am waking up everyday at 4:30 to tie flies to start filling boxes. Getting contacts with other fly fishing companies and trying to help a company set up a fly fishing outfitting business. I am putting my heart and soul into this to try and make it work and get paid at doing something I love.

Woke up bright and early, trying to get a head start. Had to make up for a day of fishing that was lost to the rain. The morning was tough. I threw everything I had and nothing was doing. It was about 9:30 am anc the wife called, wanted me to get back to camp, to cook up some breakfast. One last cast...famous last words..lol I tied on ol' faithful, Yamamoto Senko...bam..2 bass, back to back. Headed back to camp a happy camper..lol Noon time the family and I headed to the lake beach...played with the kids in the water...there were a couple of people fishing off to the right, away from the beach...I started to get the itch...I went got one rod and my tackle bag..When I got back, I started to chat with this father and son, they were from PA..off course..lol. I told them it's going to be tough catching a fish now, too many people in the lake...most likely the bass will be deep. Gonna have to make a long cast, need something heavy to get it out that far. We spoke for a few, and off they went...to the beach to cool off..it was the hottest day of the trip. I looked in my bag of tricks, and found a 1 oz worm weight. Tied that to a Iaconelli Devil Spear. Texas rigged. Launched it as far as I could...Started to reel in the slack...gave the rod a twitch..bam! Smallmouth bass on the devil spear!

The rain settled down in the evening and i was able to fish for about an hour before it got dark. I did manage 1 bass...nothing to brag about, but it wasnt a fishless day.

Weekend's getting closer and I'm sitting on ready! Figured out the plan for this weekend. It's gonna be Saturday morning fishin instead of pulling a all nighter Friday night. I have an old friend that has been my neighbor of getting close to 20 years now that's health has been slowly declining the last few years. He doesn't get out of the house much anymore and the other day while we were chewing the fat, he asked me when or if I could take him fishin. I didn't even know he was interested in fishin. I called him yesterday and asked if he'd like to go and he acted like a kid in a candy store. I'm so excited to be taking him! I pray that he will catch a monster cat! I don't even care if I don't catch anything as long as he has a great time! Getting him in my boat may be a little challenging but it will be worth it all the same!

Looking forward to either Friday night or Saturday morning as usual(haven't decided whether I'm going to fish all night Friday or Try it again Saturday morning). Catfish have been real slow the last month or so at my favorite fishing hole(mussels are float off beds so catfish ain't hungry). Tried fishing deep water (50-100') near the dam this past Saturday and still only caught 5 fish (better than none right). Might swap things up this weekend and try crappie fishing or hybreds. Crappie have been doing pretty good when fish around tree tops and I got plenty of catfish in the freezer so it might just be crappie this weekend :)

Today, we arrived a Lake Welch around 2pm and set up camp. After camp was set up, we had a quick dinner and went down to the lake. I started tossing one of Toad Frogs custom lures, the snake head..after about 10 mins with no hits, I went to a jig, Strike King black and purple, with a yamamoto trailer. Nothing doing...I was starting to get nervous..lol. I went back to the Toad snake head...First cast, BAM! Hooked up with a nice large mouth..snapped a few pics, and released her back into the water. A few more cast and BAM! Another nice large mouth..The Toad snake head caught 2 nice bass. Then I tossed a Senko and caught one more. The sun was starting to settle and we headed back to cam to get the fire going. Pics soon to follow.

Lets be straight and honest. Mary and I are not really the big fish catchers. Though we like to join outdoorfishing in the Philippines.

What we like the most is the fresh breeze while riding with the boat through the clear ocean water around small islands with white beaches.

We like this outdoor fishing forum and are looking up all this great posted pictures.

We are both addicted to pictures so we placed a lot of them at our private Philippines Travel guide

Take a look at them and then you might start dreaming of fishing in Paradise.
