These are wintering flatheads. Their metabolism is slowed down so far that they barely move, if at all. They have no interest in eating during this time. Flathead fishing is very seasonal, they are practically uncatchable in cold water:(. However, channel cats and blues can be caught year round. I caught my PB channel in February last year:D.
