I've been making posts and getting replies for a little while now--- this is my Hello. Retired from Biology teaching- lots of time now for the "good things" in life. Grew up in NW Pa- learned to enjoy the Smallies, Walleyes, and small stream, brown trout. Moved to WNY and added Steelhead, Muskies, and Canadian Northern Pike to my favorites. Learned fly tying at age 11 in Pa. I've never lost my love for that! Started collecting old or antique fishing tackle about 35 years ago- before it WAS even collectible! Have a collection of well-over 1000 items! I truly appreciate the craftsmanship, skill, creativity, and pains that went into those old lures, reels, and rods! I even started a line of contemporary collectible metal lures that I make modeled after lures from the 1880's!
Being here in WNY, I think I'm a bit far removed from most of you guys but if I ever can help with questions about fly fishing or fly tying, old tackle, or any of my favorite fish, or if you just want to chat---- get ahold of me here!
