I need a part for 1 of these: the cap nut above the left handle fell of during a cleaning This reel is in good shape other than that with the orignal line http://images.goantiques.com/thumbnails2/GGB1347/GGB1347FISH260AN.jpg (http://www.goantiques.com/scripts/images,id,25060.html)

I'm confused. Is what you need the "handle nut" that holds the handle on, or an "end cap" (one on each side that holds the spool on)? I have a box of reel parts in my "archives" and may be able to help you out. What's the model number on that reel- should be two letters like GE or FK or something like that-- those model letters give you the year it was made. The "1964" is just an ID number. Looks like a 1950's reel, and being nickel silver" makes it sweet! Nice oldie-- ever try casting with it? Best----- JoeW

Got your email. The "GE" means the reel was actually made in 1946! Very popular reels! What you need is the level-wind cap, I believe. Let me check my "archives". In many cases, those caps were interchangeable with other reel's caps. Nice to be able to restore a vintage tackle item!

Wasn't it great how many tiny little screws and caps those old reels were made with! That's why half of the ones that are found are missing end caps, screws, handle nuts, etc. etc. Those missing parts are all probably laying in the bottom of some old boat! :D Hope I can help you out. Best---- JoeW
