Paddlefish

For you guys that don't see them here's a spoonbill paddlefish. Plankton filter feeder. Very good tasting white meat.
This one is a "dink",...they go to over 100 pounds. We have a 30 day archery season here, but the heat has made conditions terrible.
I usually hold out for one twice this size, but this year I just wanted to fill my tag and get back to the A/C!

I used to see them in the Wisconsin river, Dad said that they were flippin leeches off of themselves. All i knew was that they were protected there. Prehistoric looking fish, isn't it?

It is meat in the bucket, good job. Too bad the season is in HOT weather.
