It is already January 2nd and here in S W PA no signs of good ice anytime soon.
Is anybody lucky enough to have good ice to fish yet? Let us know I have yet to drill a hole this season and getting an itchy jigging finger.
Thanks

There is none to be found by me either......errrrrrr. Lake Arthur or Pymie. I too have the itch and want to try my new gas auger. BUT on the bright side...weather does look alot better the next coming days. Should be on the Ice soon. Although soon isn't fast enough....LOL
Nothing in South Central or South Eastern either - 'course we're lucky if we get a full 4 weeks during a typical year. We'll fish from the boat until the ice forms, then move to the local warm-water discharge flow on the Susquehanna until the lakes open again.
They're already wondering here in Buffalo, NY, if they'll have to cancel the annual outdoor pond hockey tournament in Feb.! They play it on the ice in the Buffalo Harbor- a favorite for ice-fishers! 39 degrees for Lake Erie- and that's a long way from freezing.
Gotta be tough for you guys, and I'm not an ice fisherman! I sympathasize! Like 3 weks of muddy water during May fly fishing, I guess.
Your lakes can freeze, but keep the snow off my driveway please. Good luck. Best---- JoeW

Northeast Pa here, and still no ice to talk about-- a thin sheen at the most to talk about!

Hi Joe, half the fun of living in Buffalo is keeping the snow off the drive. I'm from Williamsville. Can't wait to get back. The whole family is still up there. Just bought my son his lifetime sportsman. Won't be long.
