It has come to my attention that many questions go unanswered when searched over the Internet. With that being said, I want to start a thread where our community members can answer such questions.

Below you will find a list of questions searched by everyday people. Note: This information may not always be related/relevant, so please bear with me. Feel free to send me a kind PM if you see something out of place. Also, not all of these will be in the form of a question. Please do your best to provide the most accurate answer.

If you would like to answer a question, simply copy the original question and make a reply in this thread with your answer. If you see something that is worthy of starting a thread then please post a redirecting link in this thread.

Great idea! I'll start!

how do lead head pours come out shiny?

When heating lead (solid), the melting causes a separation between the alloy (lead) and the bad stuff (debris, dirt, etc). Thus, when making something out of lead, the worker removes the separated debris (usually found floating on top), and pours the clean and shiny lead into the mold, giving it a clean and shiny head/mold.

The most "related" example would be copper pennies. At one time these pennies were all shiny and looking new. Over the years, they start to look darker when in contact with the O2 and human hands. If these older pennies were to be "re-poured" then they would be shiny again.

how to clean lead head jigs?

Well, the best way would be to simply "re-pour" the lead head jig. But, you can also polish them or sand them with a light grit of sand paper. Theoretically, you can also use a buffing wheel to polish them just like you would with any other metal. Just like brass, copper, or any other metal, it will turn into a darker color over a small period of time.

trolling on lake roosevelt

I wrote some trolling techniques in the walleye section...

http://outdoor-fishing.com/showthread.php?t=153

These techniques are based on lake Roosevelt (part of the Columbia River) porcupine bay is basically the same thing... still classified as Lake Roosevelt.

porcupine bay fishing

We have reports detailing Porcupine Bay fishing here: http://outdoor-fishing.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22

Porcupine Bay is a common place to go fishing for Walleye. Launch your boat and head left of the dock. Down the river about a 1/2 mile, you should notice rocky cliffs/slopes. Troll near the shore of those areas. Use bottom walkers and wedding rings with a piece of worm. You can also try lead head jigs.
