Mighty nice of you toadfrog. Can't recommend specific colors, depends on the day.
I saw these jigs being made on iceshanty last winter, so decided to 'tie' some up.
Just used regular solder wire (NOT acid core) & some dry fly/some wet fly hooks.

Here are some tried and true designs and colors.
The GLOW (luminious) paint is all the Rage now, and they do work well under the dark ice.

The small jigs to the left are homemade. The Fuzzy tail type work well to,examples.:)

Toadfrog,
Bright colors, Glowing, sparkle, anything attached that makes movement, like wiggley type arms or legs. We need lots of attactors for under the ice. The fish move slowwwer in the winter. So you draw fish in or find fish and drop it in and hope. Jig weights from tiny on up work for all different types fishing. Tiny jigs for Panfish, to Huge for the deep dweller species. Can't wait to see what you come up with, You make some Awesome tackle!
Lots of wiggleys with a Minnow on will kill on crappies on the right day.

I'm in the wrong part of the country for those pop eye jigs . got a mold for them . But seldom get a request . Very goood work on the lures . Wish I had more time in the man cave . If I could retire I'd be happier than a hog in slop .

They work in fresch and salt and they catch anything that swims...............woody

SOOOO! many different lures to make sooo little time . Before I kick the bucket I want to do at least one of all of them . In between that , maybe catch the attention of that one kid with the motivation and intellect to take it where no man has gone before . Besides I've done that thing where you sit for days tying the same color same style hour after hour . Toad Frog Baits will never become standardized I have to much fun bartering and doing special projects no one else wants to touch . Those that know me well know I couldn't focus to save my soul anyway . As far as Photography I seriously need improvement on that .
