I'm sorry, I simply cannot believe that any person from the Ozarks would exaggerate a hunting or fishing story. It's an insult to imply that any of us would. All the hunters and fishermen I ever met from here are completely honest, forthcoming and beyond stretching the truth. Why I talked to a guy just last week who, in total honesty, told me he caught a 46 lb. flat head on a 2 wt. bamboo rod with 7X tippet and just reeled it right in. Honest!

Yep and I caught a 10 lb bass on a 1 lb grass hopper . Them there grass hoppers get big don't they.

Sounds to me like you used the same scales to weigh both of them!

Nothing like the time a buddy and I were fishing Georgian Bay. A fog bank rolled down on us from Lake Huron, and man! It was the thickest fog I'd ever seen! Couldn't even see my buddy at the other end of the boat! After a bout an hour, the fog started thinning, and we heard "splash, splash, clunk, clunk....clunk". Then in the bottom of the boat were half a dozen Bass and perch! Evidently the fog had been so thick, the fish had gotten confused and swam up out of the water into the fog! Of course, when the fog thinned, they dropped back down, some of them landing in our boat! No pics- obviously the fog was too thick!
