Thank you Tim (barnett.23)! Those definitely should work! That first one- the yellow and black "bee" or "grasshopper" ought to be a killer on some panfish! I may make a few spares to use! The spinner-- nice work! Very curious to see what that spinner on the swivel, on the shaft does in the water! Great idea you got working there and thanks! They're better than my first attempts, that for sure!
Couple tips for you- go to a craft or sewing store and look for crewel yarn or cross stitching yarn-- cheap, all kinds of colors, and makes perfect bodies on flies.
And look for cards of wool or synthetic yarn. Cut of pieces and flare out or separate the individual threads- kind of brush it out. that stuff makes great wings on flies.
Also check out the jewelry making department for "fancy" beads to use in your bodies. try to get metal ones and look for "assortments", they're usually cheaper. Fly tying and lure making does not have to be expensive!
I'll be getting back to you- now take some of those flies out and catch some fish! Nothing like catching them on your own flies! Thanks again--- Best---- JoeW
